Here in the Columbia, MO market, there are so many student housing properties trying to fill up. The university that is most target is the University of Missouri - Columbia (Mizzou). There is a place on campus called Speaker Circle, that is the hot spot for a lot of properties to come and do some free marketing, where they can set up a table and pass out promos, flyers, etc.

Our latest idea was to set up a table at Speaker Circle and pass out free Chick-Fil-A! Free food along with great music always attracts the students. So we bought a number of sandwiches and since Chick-Fil-A wraps their sandwiches in bags with their logo on the front and nothing on the back, we decided to put a sticker on the back of the bag. On the sticker it had our logo along with our property information. Also passed out with the sandwich was a flyer talking about our amenities and specials we were presenting that day! We got rid of all the sandwiches and signed a bunch of leases that week.

If you have a university that allows you to do some type of free marketing that way where you can stretch your mind and dollar, I suggest doing something like this! Hope this helps and happy leasing!
